It is amazing how often you can find new in the box reels from days of yester year on ebay for quite reasonable prices.
I agree with a few points in this thread…
Drag on light reels is really overkill in most situations. To bad there aren’t more options in the click and pawl reels. I think reel makers are just following what everyone else is doing and what the customers think they want or need.
The tiny drag adjustment screw would be the ONLY thing about the Tibor Spring Creek CL that is at all a downside. The reel is pretty sweet otherwise.
I’ve checked them out before and the Abel Creek reels are pretty nice and not at a bad price point.
Here are my suggestions…and I agree with Zach that with the black hardware of the rod…that I’d match it with a black reel.

I’ve got a pair of Smith Toosters that I’ve used for a seven years or so and then several pair of Native eyewear glasses since I like their warranty. I’ve had issues with their (Native) nose pads more or less rotting or falling apart. They’ve replaced glasses each time without paying the warranty fee.
Alright…here are my Top Five from 2006.
And to think that this trout was my friend’s THIRD trout caught…ever!
The funky green J. W. Young Condex reel has to make the cut.
Most likely the largest trout that I caught all year. A long fall afternoon of getting rained on was well worth it with this trout and several others.
