Thought I’d introduce myself. I’ve lurked for awhile, and have been a member of the bamboo rod and fiberglass rod forums for some time. I’m a psychologist in Albany, NY, take off most Fridays from this time of year until about October to fish in order to keep myself sane, and right about now am pretty damn preoccupied with thinking about fishing, tying flies, thinking about water(am truly haunted), and this afternoon will get to cast a new Thramer 8′ 3 pc. hollowbody rod I just got in the mail. Next week I should be receiving a new 8’3″ 5 wt. glass rod from Mike Mcfarland. (It really does get sick when you have to struggle a little to pick out which rods to use- have a bunch, and I made my first bamboo rod with George Maurer’s help a yr and a half ago – a 7’6″ 4 wt. that I really do love – way too many competing mistresses this year). Anyway, hope to continue to enjoy Zach’s podcasts and this forum.
Welcome, Steve! Look forward to hearing about the trips with those new rods. You’ll find as the fishing season kicks in there are more fishing trip reports, with photos, which is one of the best things about this site.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I am looking forward to hearing more about others’ time on the water.
Cameron- I’m SAltsh on both the fiberglass and bamboo forums. Mike is supposed to ship the rod today or tomorrow, so I hope to fish it my first day out next friday. As my camera is being repaired right now I asked him to take some pictures of it so I can post them for others to see.
