Well…with temps in the mid 80’s I was able to get out on the family pond yesterday.  PoudreRiver arrived late friday night for a short week visit and we’ve been giving him the “Southern Experience” with a day trip to Charleston on Saturday, local foods, drink, etc.

PoudreRiver hasn’t done a lot of warmwater and also had not fished with fiberglass.  We did both yesterday with moderate success.  PoudreRiver caught a NICE pickerel on a clouser minnow within the first hour.  We enjoyed a pimento cheese sandwich on sourdough with a couple of ice cold Coors Light beers for lunch…and just had a nice Sunday float on the pond in the jon boat.

I ran everything through Picasa and “warmfly”‘ed and “film grain”‘ed the mix of photographs below to give them a different effect.

    Hey Cameron –

Cool pics; is that first fish a pike or a muskie?

Zach…it is a pickerel…a very large pickerel for that pond.

Had a great time in the south…Cameron was a great host, and I definately enjoyed some good southern food!

Even though I rarely get to fish warmwater, it was quite enjoyable, especially fishing the glass rods.
