MemberI’ve never been into cigar smoking, though once or twice I’ve smelled cigar smoke on the breeze, so someone else on the river was enjoying one.
Of course, the breeze has also occasionally brought me the fragrance of a lit-up doobie, so apparently the folks around here like to smoke all kinds of stuff while they fish.

MemberI’ve had problems with the tip sinking on my 3wt SA line, but I’ve always suspected the loop-to-loop connector may be to blame.

MemberI have one of the Sage FLi rods in an 8wt and I like it quite a bit. It serves as a combination carp/striper/streamer rod. I cast it side by side with some more expensive Sage models and I just liked the feel of the FLi better. The component parts aren’t as nice as the more expensive rods, but it’s reasonably light for the money and I like the way it casts. As my casting gradually gets better, I like it even more.
But in the grand scheme of things, I like my G.Loomis Streamdance rods better (5wt GLX and 3wt Metolius).

MemberI’d go to Utah too! 🙂
Seriously, there are a number of trips I’d like to do. I’d like to spend some time up in Montana, and I’d like to do some salmon and steelhead fishing in Washington. I’ve always wanted to fish the White River in Arkansas to see what all the fuss is about. On the East Coast, I’d like to get up to New England and fish some of the streams where it all got started. I’d also love to have a good, long trip to the Keys to chase tarpon, snook, and bonefish.

MemberI’ve not researched Tennessee’s law in detail, and this area gets pretty complex and goes back to the early 1800s. As with a lot of things, many people have strong beliefs on what “the law” is, but it’s not necessarily correct.
Based on what limited research I’ve done, my impression is that Tennessee only allows you to touch the stream bottom to the high water mark on navigable waters. Analysis of whether a stream is “navigable” in Tennessee is very complicated, but the main part of the analysis involves whether the stream is large enough for commercial vessels (caveat:

MemberI suspect a bright yellow line would blend in *better* than a dark brown one. Zach
Most of the muted-color lines aren’t dark – they tend to be light colors, but just in a muted pastel shade instead of a fluorescent shade.

MemberI think you probably need to focus on trout.

MemberI feel like muted line colors are more effective.
