MemberSorry – I’ve been checking the forum every once in a while but haven’t looked at the pictures in a while.

MemberMike, you could have caught that fish if you were wearing a Lucky Fishing Hat.
And Zach, thanks for re-hosting the image.
brian dunigan
MemberMaybe the hat is too ugly.
It’s showing up fine when I pull up the board on my computer. Go figure – maybe it’s the site hosting the image?
Is there a way to post a photo directly to the board rather than posting a link?

Edit:

MemberOnly in the context of “grip & grin” photos. 🙂
But since you asked…

***Editor’s note:
I re-hosted your image, Brian; the link was to a php script that stores your images in some non-html way.

MemberZach, I don’t know what I did to you to deserve the implication that I could be a drummer:

MemberSorry to go completely off the topic, but how do you guys like being a lawyer? Was it worth the time and money of going to law school?
Law school isn’t for everybody. It is not easy, and for most people, it’s quite a bit different than what they expect going in. But personally, I thought law school was definitely worth the time and money.
Keep in mind that “being a lawyer” can mean a whole lot of very different job descriptions – you could do small-firm trial work, mental health law, public interest law, government staff counsel work, or maybe large-firm transactional work. You could be in a courtroom every day, or maybe never see one in your entire career. My current job is nothing like my prior job working for the state supreme court. There are legal jobs out there for all sorts of personalities and temperaments.
Plus, a law degree is a useful thing to have in any number of non-lawyer jobs. I had law school classmates who never intended to be lawyers, but were getting law degees in order to have an edge running their small businesses. There are also opportunities in the worlds of academics, government, and journalism. The FBI does some recruiting from law schools.
Like anything else, you get out of it what you’re willing to put in, but I’ve never spoken with anyone who had earned a J.D. and thought it wasn’t worth it.

MemberNow see, this thread illustrates exactly why you should have more respect for The Hat. You should go to Wal-Mart right now and get one just like mine, and stop bothering people with questions when the answer is so obvious. The Hat meets the majority of your requirements:
1. Definitely NOT gay. Not even “metrosexual.” Richard Simmons probably wouldn’t even allow The Hat into his house. And no, treebark camo does not count as a “flower pattern.”
2. It is wide brimmed. In fact, the whole reason I eschewed baseball caps in favor of The Hat was to reduce glare and improve fish spotting (also, I was getting tired of sunburned ears).
3. Non-cowboy. Can’t wear a camo hat around the horses, lest they mistake it for vegetation and try to graze on it.
4. Ventilated – little holes in the top!
5. Able to withstand torture. It withstands torture so well, there are probably pictures out there somewhere of Lyddie England giving it a “thumbs up.”

MemberI second the welcome.

MemberZach, I’ll have you know that is a Lucky Fishing Hat.

MemberGee, thanks Mike. Now you have given me a whole different sort of image problem.
I wonder what James does for a living. Obviously, whatever it is, he does it for free and donates his entire paycheck to charity.

MemberThanks, Ron.
Haven’t fixed it yet.

MemberBy the by, BD or any other lawyers out there: any idea how far the whole pro hoc vice acceptance thing can be stretched?
Georgia is very strict on its admission standards – though you’re already finding that out with the denial of the waiver request.
You won’t be able to use the pro hac vice rules to practice in Georgia with a Tennessee license. You are only eligible to appear pro hac vice in Georgia if you practice “temporarily” in the state. If you reside in Georgia or regularly work in an office there, you have to have a Georgia law license.
The GA phv rule (recently revised) is here:
http://gabar.org/public/pdf/news/pro_hac_vice.pdf
Their procedure for admitting an out-of-state lawyer is a pain in the butt.

MemberThe only time I do that is when I’m checking in a motel on an overnighter with the guys. You shoud see the looks we get at the hotel in rural Celina TN. :-*
;D
A few years ago I drove up to Kansas with my father and brother for a pheasant hunting trip, and my girlfriend (who is now my wife) put a pink silk nightgown in my duffel bag as a joke.
Unfortunately, on the way up, we stopped at a hotel out in the boonies in Missouri, and apparently the nightgown fell out of my bag and got left behind. So on the return trip, I had to go back by the hotel and pick up the nightgown at the front desk.
I think the hotel folks remembered that three men had stayed in the room, because they looked at me awfully funny.
