Well, I work Toyota Boshoku America in Novi, Mi. I fly below the radar most days, working with suppliers to resolve their manufacturing issues so I guess that makes me a SAQ. My part time job in the snowy months would be a Ski Instructor, I’m on the snow over 40 hours a week in addition to my windowless, soulless office job.
And when I’m not working, I’m doing training rides; I race 12 and 24 hour endurance Mtb races (solo) in the summer and race elite level cyclocross in the fall and early winter. When I’m not on the bike I’m on the water. Me, busy, never.
Huh. I did not even notice you could do that, kind of cool. I was just using the Foward One button on the bottom left…
This is too funny, I was watching this and my Dad called me to see if I wanted to head out on the lake. Which I did, I was in need of a night off the bike. So away I went.
Long story short, I knocked my sunglasses of my head after a large mouth bass spit the hook some 50 feet from the boat. I guess that brings a new meaning to chuck and duck.

Anyone here familiar with the website steepandcheap.com ? They regularly have Cloudveil Crystal Creek waders for less than $150.00, for that price you could make them in to a sweet pair of pants and have some material left over for repairs down the road.
Tippy Dam will be a cf if the fish are in the river, total combat fishing. Don’t get me wrong there is some good fishing/fish to be had but you will need to move well down river from the damn to avoid the tight liners/ spin casters.
The Cir polarizer on my 400mm gets stuck alot. I can’t force it loose by turning the knurled threaded part but if I spin the glass back and forth a few times it always breaks loose.
I was going to say the same thing, just start spinning the circular element and every thing should start moving freely.
Back before cameras were filled with electronics, you could put them in the oven for a few hours at a low temp to dry them out. I don’t know if I would do that with my DSLR (or even my 35mm SLR).
You can still do this, just turn it way down (125) and leave the door open…
A quick way to get get it dry, other than setting it in the sun inside, is to crack your car windows and park the car and camera in the sun.
I took a swim a month ago and soaked my P&S and blackberry. I popped the batteries out as soon as I got out of the water, put them back in my pack wet. After I got home I rinsed everything out with distilled water and let left it in my car on a 95 deg day.
Everything was working fine the next about 2 days later.
Going with the street vendor odd eats category; The details are a bit fuzzy now, but when I was in Mexico near Toluca I came a crossed a vendor in one of the little mountain towns. He was set-up along side of a small mountain creek and was severing fresh trout, it was almost a you pick operation.
While I was working in Mexico I had several unidentifiable pieces of meat along with horse brisket which was very tender, some deep fried bovine esophagus, man was it was tough to get down and to finish it all off I have baby goat taco’s, which was really tender and full of flavor.
But working with the Japanese now for several years, 90% of the time I’m unsure of what is in front of me, but I’ll try anything once.
Starting tomorrow, at say 8pm, I going to stand on the dock and talk to the fish, but not just any fish. The Northern Pike. Our talk will be brief, I’ll ask them not to steal my streamers by chewing through the bite tippet and turning tail a running with my fly still lodged in its mouth. I’ll ask them to politely return my fly to the dock where I stand and spit it back out if they wish not to put up a fair fight.
This week alone I have lost 8 large streamers and 2 of the streamers that Neal tied up for me to test. My buckhair top waters are toast as well.
