I have been “watchless” for over 6 months now and need to find something new.

The Nixon “The Answer” seems to fit that bill.

Hard to beat the G-Shock.  I bought one about 18 months ago and love it.  It has taken a beating and still looks and performs great.  It came with the solar and atomic features which have been fantastic.  I really like that it continues to work well in really cold temps as I have had a couple other watches that, for lack of a better term, froze up when the temps dropped below freezing.

I’ve got a Seiko Diver’s Watch that I purchased for $240 in 1990. It’s been underwater about as much as not…….still going strong. Prorated over 18 years….calculates to one cheap watch.

I bought the G-Shock about a year ago, and absolutely love it.

I have a matched pair of $20 target house brand digi watches. I bought one and then lost it and then found it again after I replaced it. They are water resistant to 30M and I’ve been swimming and fishing in them for two years now. I just got back from the beahc and I boogied boarded and sailed a catamaran, and paddled a Kayak in the ocean, they are still tickin. Velcro band is comfy… I have more expensive watches but I don’t like them as much my cheapo velcro Target watches… go figure. Low on style points HIGH on function points.

It has a bright back light function that still works, date and a stop watch function. Can’t beat the price and functionality… and if it breaks I go buy another.

I remember when my friend got one of the original G-Shocks back when we were in Jr. High – must have been about 86/87.

Pulsar (made by Seiko) makes a really good watch for a good price. About 10 years ago at Sam’s Club they were selling assorted pulsar watches for $15 to $25. I picked up 2 that never need a battery replacement. One is kinetic and the other is solar powered.

I’ve worn one or the other of these watches for the last 10 years everyday. They have survived many, many dunkings over the years as well as temps from over 100 degrees down to well below freezing.

Both still look and work fine.
