Tippy Dam will be a cf if the fish are in the river, total combat fishing. Don’t get me wrong there is some good fishing/fish to be had but you will need to move well down river from the damn to avoid the tight liners/ spin casters.
As long as someone has already brought up fall fishing in Michigan perhaps we should float the idea of a northern IA conclave. a salmon trip on the PM would be perfect.
I am from the area, I recommend avoiding salmon fishing completely, I know guides, and have fished this region my whole life and aside from the many idiots on the water the fishing is actually snagging. Hooking a fish in the mouth is by chance only regardless of technique used.
If you’re talking late October or early-mid November you should miss a lot of the chaos of the salmon run and have a good shot at hitting some good fall steelheading.

We typically hit the water about 9:00 PM and fish till about 4:00 every year there’s a rumor that night fishing will canceled . Daytime is a bit of a cluster.
If your in Ann Arbor you should definitely come down to Ohio and fish with us.
