    EXAMPLES:

See the black “yoke thing” and the 6 pockets?  How about those exterior zingers!  The hood is too tall (although at least Simms separated hood and collar).

The cuff design is guaranteed to both leak and catch flyline.  Last, look at that ugly-ass patch!

    This is a $400 coat!

    This one is even worse:

Chalk me up as Not A Fan.

This one is a big improvement:

I like where Patagonia is going here, a lot.  But!  It is still way too short.  Look how long the arms are in proportion to the body!  If you wore this with jeans you’d have three inches of shirt above the belt buckle showing *before* you hit coat.

    Geez.

I haven’t seen one yet that really satisfied me.

Well I went down to Best Buy and for $40 I bought a converter case that lets your old laptop harddrive slip into a metal sheath and become a USB-compatible portable harddrive.

You were lucky to have a man like that, Mike.

    BD-

Some studies were done showing law students did better on exams if they had laptops and you know how we are.

Hahaha, don’t worry Ed, I know where my priorities are.  All in the name of good fly tying, eh?

Bird hunting is great fun but I am unlikely to ever reach the level of commitment to any form of hunting I have to flyfishing.  I still flyfish year round in any weather.

    Mike-

Salient points first: Where the hell can you catch Muskie in Tennessee?

You might try your question on Upper Midwest Flyfishing, as well, since they have lots of muskies up there.

    Hey Mike-

I agree, but don’t know how to fix it.

Generally speaking you will find the highest quality from far eastern manufacturing starting in South Korea, then going to Taiwan, then Thailand, then mainland China.

    Hey bd-

CLAN rods of Scotland makes a Greenheart spey on an 1895 design – that is probably the closest you’ll get.
