    Steve I think you make valid points but the people telling me these things are the ones designing the reels.

    I didn’t measure him due to all the camera work and not wanting to put additional stress on him but I know my net dimensions are 16″ and he stuck out about 6″ past that.

    Now that I am done, I think I can answer the question of whether a sealed synthetic disc drag is the same as a draw-bar disc.

    My solution to the waterproof issue was to buy C&F Designs boxes, which are themselves waterproof.

    Just to circle back around to the original question; the Scott G2 is Scott Fly Rods’ successor to the G series, which was one of the first rods (maybe the first rod) Scott offered, and which was a perenniel favorite for 25 years.

    Hey Davy –

    Not being offensive, because I know and like Mike McLelland a lot (his shop is one of the only ones recommended by this site in my About page), but he didn’t invent that method either.
