Very solid, trout look great. Last brown in the first set is a bit soft; movement I’m betting. Those bastards can be so hard to photograph.
These look like you’re following the ‘wide and wide open’ principle. What’s the exif data on #2? I don’t think I can get that shallow a depth of field out of my 12-24mm f/4, but I also have a 24mm f/2.8 that might just pull this off.

What I think would be really helpful is a step-by-step book or website taking us through the process of, say, patching a hole in a boat and then painting it and gel-coating it.
Fishpond makes fly-fishing specific backpacks, but my friends and i have also used Granite Gear technical packs.
I’m helping Andrew out with this project and I’ve already learned some interesting stuff browsing around.

Almost uniformly when speaking to people who know an absolute ton about lines, I was told that the majority of the casters out there will not see much difference from line to line.
Are you willing to move to outside Detroit to spend most of your day directing factory workers? What if you had to put in two years in BFE, Alabama, first? (Oh, and you’ll need to be quite smart, have an advanced degree in engineering, and be willing to work for an hourly wage with no benefits). If that sounds like a great job, boy have I got an opportunity for you!

You may be missing some compound tapering in that comparison, and those charts only show the distance the taper occurs over, not the outside diameter of the line. It’s also likely there’s quite a bit of difference in the plastic chemistry. Have you compared this line to lines meant for other species with similar fishing profiles, like the redfish or pike or bonefish?

The talk went off as planned yesterday and was recorded once again by UGA’s impressive technology staff. Thanks again to Gary Grossman for arranging it and also to Gary Sundin for helping drum up some listeners. I think about 25-30 people came, including several undergrads, which was just great.
