I’m looking for a backpack to hold waders and boot and a wading jacket all inside the pack. And a place that holds a rod tube on the outside.

The reason for the pack is i’m planing on biking into some streams so all the gear needs to fit into the pack.

I haven’t had much luck with whats out there. Looking forward to getting some suggestions.

    Thanks!

Fishpond makes fly-fishing specific backpacks, but my friends and i have also used Granite Gear technical packs.

I’d suggest a Golite Jam2 http://www.backcountry.com/store/GOL0324/GoLite-Jam-2-Pack-3100cu-in.html… I love mine… it weighs next to nothing, is expandable/collapsible depending upon what you are carrying, cheap, durable, comfortable… can’t say enough good things about it. Dakine makes some nice packs targeted at skiing and snowboarding, but I have always thought they would make good fishing packs with ample straps to lash rods and gear to the outside.

i ended up getting the Orvis Safe Passage Angler’s Backpack

boots, waders and rod fit perfectly inside the main pack. reel and tackle fits in the 0ther 900 pockets. The U shaped zipper on the main pack is really helpful when placing everything inside.

I also like how the rod fits inside the back keeping it secure and a nice tight fit.

Should work well for me. I’m just using this for afternoon bike rides to some local streams.

    thanks again everyone.
