We’re drawing strikes on 12″ triple articulated flies…inspired by BBohen’s patterns.

Muskie aren’t schoolers like Striper or trout, but you can get lucky

    Thanks guys.

We were floating in a Coleman Crawdad, trolling motor on front, 2.5hp 4 stroke on the back.

    Here’s my rig for musky:

I use 25 lb Flouro as my main line on SA sinking or intermediate 400gr for the 10 or 12 wt.

Man, I can’t believe I missed it this summer!
Zach, don’t let Jarrod’s tough guy look fool you….you could whoop him. ::)

I did manage a few East TN stripers on the fly…but they don’t hold a candle to the caliber of Fish I’ve boated with Mike A.
I was looking through some pics, and I realized that my two biggest stripers (ever) came from the same kind of summer night fly fishing with Mike.
I’ll have to make some time for it next summer for sure.

Heres what your hand looks like after a night of unhooking these beasts.

No bait or plugs were used to catch these fish. I’m lucky to still have my 10 wt after battling these fish.

The Upper Fr Broad around Asheville is a gnarly, brushy banked musky river.

Hit the Salt River in Star Valley, about 30 miles or so outside of Jackson Hole.

Too bad about the high water….It will be all good when you get that Jon Boat.

I’ve read a few stories about night fishing below Bull Shoals that fired me up to begin chasin browns after dark.

John, give me a holler when you come on down, I live right by the gorge section in Erwin.
Muskies have been super tough…but I did raise and miss a giant about 3 weeks back. I’ve covered tons of water… It’s gonna take a season or two to get them figured out, but I’m narrowing in.

You’re right about the smallies Jay. I’m going to have to miss the start of the peak season this year due to my wedding and honeymoon.

Awesome work Mike. You’re a lucky man to have waters like that around you.

I’ve been trying to sharpen my big game skills chasing river stripers and musky in the Appalachian mtns. I may pick your brain on my quest for my first tarpon later this year.

    Great stuff.

Bearsden and Feater-Craft are my two fly tying sites of choice.
