MemberNo I did not, only the 9ft.

MemberFor the rivers I currently fish and the rods I currently own, I ended up going with a 4wt.

MemberAll excellent points and thank you for giving me the questions to ask myself and forcing me to think.
We hit mostly rivers, so that’s moving water, and we are looking to hit new ones that to my understanding have more confined casting quarters…will research that.
I primarily trout fish, but do enjoy bass and carp (part of the reason for the 8wt).

MemberVery good to know and no, I’m not worried about 80ft of line atm. 🙂

MemberThanks for the tips Zach, I think that is the Ross I was thinking of (or it was one called the Flystart).

MemberThanks guys.
Ya, he used the DS2 quite a bit. Â It was his primary rod before he picked up the Winston, paired with a beautiful waterworks reel, this past weekend.
I plan to take the rod to a local fly shop and try a few different low end reels on it, to see what feels best. Â With only getting out about 10 times a year, not ready to invest close to a grand yet in a nice rod/reel combo like my buddy just did.

MemberZach,
Did you happen to check out the link I provided, it had pictures of a factory in China along the lines of what Clark described.

Member…
I’ll bet all my money that rednecks are not gonna start buying $70 3x Dry Shirts, $700 waders, and $20 dollar sun block (that stuff is such a joke) any time soon. This made me laugh.
scott bullinger
MemberWell, I thoroughly enjoyed my first swap experience.

MemberScot,
I threw in random patterns into everyone’s boxes.
