I might be in, liked the last swap, but I’ve never tied a carp fly or have I ever seen a carp fly.

No worries for those of you who don’t or haven’t targeted carp, you’re all welcome.

Thats a good suggestion Dusty, that is a killer fly to use on Carp. Also Neal I have no doubt that you will land your first Carp soon.

    Neal,
The first one is always the hardest, after that its smooth sailing.

Hey Dusty maybe you and I should try and get together this weekend and try tying some flies, and maybe see if we cant get into some fish.

I am going to tie a Harry Fodder fly (since I just posted a thread on this fly and all . . . ).  Tim said he wouldn’t mind if I tied this pattern.

So, ummhh . . . Michael Exl . . . what color should I tie?  What size is best for carp (4 or 6 or smaller)?

    Neal,

I would go with tan/ light brown in a size 6.

By the way I land carp number 75 on the year with the fly I’m tying for the swap. That makes 42 this year on that fly. I hope it will have the same luck for you guys as it has for me.

Three prototype Fodder flies I tied tonight.  The final fly will be the crawfish orange and green or brown blend.  Please let me know if you would rather see all brown or all tan (I will defer to the experts).  Sorry about the white balance, the colors are a bit off.
