MemberI’ve only seen the northern half of the States…..but Bozeman or Livingston Mt would be 2 places that I could easily live…for a whole host of reasons , not least the fishing

MemberCentral PA as Neil suggested is probably the best place in the east.
Year round fishing, wild fish , excellent hatches, you can find rising trout every day of the year.

MemberThe disappearance of the quaint mountain town…..that would make for a great rant!

MemberI think alot of the little old trout towns seem to be going that way.
Bozeman has certainly gone upscale in the last decade, but Livingston, Gardiner, West Yellowstone and Twin Bridges are certainly the trout towns they always were–especially Twin Bridges.

MemberI almost forgot Utah. Utah is awesome. Utah anglers flock out of state in droves every weekend to fish in neighboring states, so you’ll have a lot of water to choose from in Utah.
Plus, it’s close to Colorado.
I couldn’t agree with this more. Utah is the place to be.

MemberMtn Home, Arkansas
White water system some of the best trout fishing in the world. Within a 2.5hr drive you can fish Norfork, Bull Shoals, Little Red, Taneycomo, and Beaver tailwaters. Then you have the North Fork of the White between AR and MO which has wild fish. On top of the trout you have some fantastic smallmouth and rock bass fishing on the Kings, Buffalo, and Eleven Points all within a 1-2 hr drive. Then the best thing about Mtn Home compared to living out west is your dollar goes alot farther. The cost of living in Arkansas is low compared to the rest of the country. Granted the beauty of the west is spectacular but North Arkansas/Southren Missouri has it own unique beauty.
