Somewhere I heard that the redington cpx’s were based on the xp blank, but that’s pure rumor as far as i’m concerned, although clearly i don’t mind spreading it.
I would like to see:
1. A device to hold the rod while the fish is in the net. I have a home made rig set up to do this now but it is difficult to latch with one hand
2. A device to transport pontoons or float tubes back upriver that can be transported on the pontoon and will fit in the car.
3. A square stern canoe that is appropriate for car topping. All the ones I have seen are either too heavy to be carried over any real distance or do not have carrying yokes.
4. Water proof cellphones. Not water resistant, water proof.

An avid steelheading buddy of mine wants a rod that you can attach a battery pack to that heats the guides to enjoy ice-free winter fishing.
I have had good luck at EMS for “fishing” shirts that upon comparison appear to be the same as “real” fishing shirts.
There’s a lot of discussion regarding those rods and other “euro nymphing” rods on troutpredator.com.
While not one of your listed choices, and not nearly as glamorous a destination, I would recommend a late summer trip to northern Michigan.
