MemberThe pictures are even better than the telephone call Brett 😉  After hearing about your trip, the pictures are just icing on the cake.  The lake vs river issue is settled in my opinion!  Those are some hogs my friend.  Can’t wait to get the CD with high resolution photos.

MemberI bought one size larger than my true dress shoe size and it is a perfect fit with Simms G4 waders.

MemberAny 10-11ft rod in the 4-5wt class is about perfect.

MemberIt is a real trend unfortunately.

MemberLOL Will (and welcome back btw). You are spot on in your observation. Actually DK has asked for a reshoot with real life tying situations and also outside river shots showing the ruggedness of the products. Finding the right combo of art direction, marketing, advertising, and technical photography is always challenging. I chose to shoot the technical side of the product up close like medical grade equipment because that is the one thing missing when we go to Internet and shop for vises. Guys want to see the quality before they buy. However the messy desk real life marketing shot is what gets the emotional trigger to look in the first place. So we are shooting both sequences.

You can now get the set at a discount for less than $1,000, LOL, http://www.amazon.com/Rare-unusual-fly-tying-materials/dp/1886961018. Â I keep my eye on this set of classic fly tying collectable gold. Â Still hasn’t reached my price point. Â However, there is no better manual for classic Salmon Fly recipes and/or photography in the world.

MemberYum!

MemberI use this Ikea solar lamp for my tying.
Jay – DUDE! Â You use a “solar” light to tie flies? Â When and where are you tying?

MemberDid I mention I was going to New Zealand again? Yep. Just found out that I will be heading there for work. I will be working there for 4 weeks and chasing trout for 2 weeks!  🙂 🙂 🙂
JEALOUS! 😎

MemberI just got my new pair of Korkers Chrome wading boots last weekend after 3 months on the waiting list. Â They are incredible! Â the new exchangeable sole system is a major upgrade and you can literally just step into them and they click in place.

MemberVery nice, Neal. Â Dynamite images.
I trust that as payment for your services, you’ve been able to keep all the equipment you photographed!
LOL Mick. Â Indeed I did manage to keep a few “goodies” – notable mentions include the metal head cement well, the hair stackers, the parachute tool, and the hair packers (awesome accessories that really make life more convenient). Â These would make supreme gifts and stocking stuffers FYI. Â
Honestly, the hardest thing about photographing an entire product line (literally hundreds of vises, accessories, etc) is not the work involved, but rather seeing all that equipment in the studio and having to send it back. Â
If anyone wants first hand advice on any of the Dyna King products send a PM. Â I literally have had my hands on it all and have tied flies on every vise. Â So I can give you my honest opinion and feedback.
