Has anyone tried out this new solar power unit?

I have the Brunton roll-out solar kit that the AEG group used in their Mongolia video.

It looks very cool indeed. I look forward to hearing what people have to say about it. I don’t trust the plugs you use when traveling internationally. I have fried a few things that way so this could be very handy!

Not exactly your question, but maybe it’s also useable when camping.
I use this Ikea solar lamp for my tying.

Jay – DUDE!  You use a “solar” light to tie flies?  When and where are you tying?

Is that solar lamp just clear on the top?

I prefer tying during daylight conditions. Nothing beats a good natural lighting.
But yes, when I tie during the evenings, I use this lamp.

    Zach,

No experience with either one….but after taking a quick look:

It seems as the one that you are looking at is comparable to the smallest Brunton model. Probably about one-third the output of the $600 Brunton.

The voltage outputs are also different, so that may be something to consider.
