Thought I had already commented.
These are REALY good, everything is just right… can’t wait to see more.
JT, I have an older version of the Sanyo and they are great. With the improved image quality, it should be excelent.
Pro’s
Don’t have to worry about swimming.
Fits great into a vest.
Good battery life.
Easy to use.
Image stabilization.
Easy to download footage.

Quit easy to move around in your hand.
Difficult to zoom with out moving around too much.I have an Olympus underwater camera and it didn’t cut it.
Not enough time on the clips, only 1 minute.

Card write speed is very poor.There are a few things to watch out for.
1. The lodge must have fishable water right there. If the weather comes in, and you can’t fly or boat to the fish, then you need to have a strong dominos game.
2. The lodge sould be close to the sea. This means you are catching “fresh” fish.
3. You need a variety of water, not just on a big river, try get a back water close to the camp.

http://www.frontierflyfishing.co.za/alaska.htmlI fish a tail water fishery often and always look for rising water. We have a problem with water hyacinth, and the first sign that the levels are rising, is that the hyacinth starts coming down stream in huge rafts as if gets dislodged upstream.
We don’t have any schedules on water release, not any alarms…
I don’t fish with a life jacket, but have been contemplating getting a safety pack.
Luckily the river I fish doesn’t have steep banks, and even if the water gets up quickly, there is almost always an escape route.
In the 20 odd years I have fished it, I have only had one close call… We were in a relatively deep section and suddenly the rocks were covered and then the hyacinth came down… in 5 minutes the water was up 2 feet, luckily we got out before the big water really came down.
My thoughts are with the family’s.

Love that kind of work, but don’t know if I could throw them at a fish?? what if I loose one.

The photo was taken on the flats on Cosmoledo Atoll, this is a shoal of “runt” Bonefish, averaging 3 to 5 pounds. Some of these shoals can be thousands strong; this one was about 200 feet long and about 50 feet wide.
Last year when Jose Wejebe was on the atoll, a shoal pressed through and the guide said, “Bonefish, 11 o’clock, 40 feet…” he looked, turned back to the guide and said, “where bru??” he couldn’t see the fish, for the feesh…
If you can’t see the fish, try look for their eyes, there must be at least 50 fish just in that photo… if not a bucket more…

So I got a mate with a Scott G, 7 foot 3w, turns out it is actually 6′ 10″, so a mail was dispatched to the relevant people at Scott and they confirmed that it just didn’t look or sound right, so they just called it 7 foot.
So then this weekend we were guiding a few high rollers and at some point a Sage 9′ was standing next to a Winston 8′ 6″ and my Scott 8′ 8″ , and something didn’t look right. So out came the tape and at the end, my 8′ 8″ was the only one that was actually the right length… however, when we broke it down later, my rod was the only one with different length sections, all the other’s sections were the same lengths…
Anywho, what were you saying something about a grip????
