Mike McKeownMemberYeh David, they are a bit annoying, but it is the culture of the soccer watching masses here in SA… They’re a little bit of fun when you’re just a once off supporter.
I believe that there is a shop in London that imported 40 000 and were sold out in a week. There is also talk of an ice-hokey game in Canada, where 1 arrived and the next week there were a thousand.
I have to say that almost every where you go you’re going to get something different at a game. In the Windies your going to get those drums and a band at the cricket, Pakistan the crackers and the English, a bunch drunkards sing funny songs.
Other countries with interesting ideas of what to do when you watch soccer, Mexicans bang drums, Ghana have symbols(sp), crackers in Argentina, oh and the English sing those annoying songs.
Anywho…
Yeh the Boks are looking very strong… got a chance at the Tri Nations again.
Mike McKeownMemberUSA – Ghana in 1 hour… mmmmm… looking forward to it.
But who to shout for… I have called USA 2-1 in my fantasy league.
Mike McKeownMemberSo USA has qualified for the quarter finals… Very Well Done…
I went to the Germany / Ghana game last night… what a game, what an atmosphere, what an experience…
It’s getting interesting now…
Mike McKeownMemberI’ve never had any synthetic boot shrink on me.
I had a pair of Loops that went from a 9 to an 8 after they were dried in the sun by a “friend”
All boots should be dried on the back windowsill, out of direct sunlight. IMHO
Sorry to hear about your sole coming off on your Simms Duncan. I believe that Simms is aware of the problem with, what seems to be a batch?? thats as much info as I have, other than telling you we are testing a new design on the Freestones. Our tester is a 60 year old guy, weighs about 110lbs in the shade and is the hardest guy on boots
Mike McKeownMemberWithout my cell phone I would never fish again. I’m that guy who’s always taking phone calls on the river; it’s the only way for me unfortunately. Always on call . . . :'(
Only cause you’re the best…
Mike McKeownMember4. Water proof cellphones. Not water resistant, water proof.
Seth
Sorry Seth, I like mine in the car when I fish… Walkie-Talkies, now thats a better option.
Mike McKeownMemberInteresting reading…
We have a local supplier who makes a camo shirt, for little money, but the quality is a bit suspect.
about halfway down the page.
http://www.senqu.co.za/asp/products.aspI like some of the other ideas.
But what really interests me is when there is already a product available, but reason it is unacceptable… makes some very interesting reading.
Mike McKeownMemberZack, it has to do with the “Circle of Confusion:CofC” aka “Circle of Incidence”. The larger the sensor the higher or larger the CofC and this is the reason why P&S sensors have such a shallow hyperfocal distance. This is also the reason why there are great applications for the DX over the FX and vice versa. Hope this helps.
Thanks Ben, took the words right out of my mouth.
Mike McKeownMemberAnyone see Germany destroy Australia? Whoa….
As a South African, I support South Africa and anyone playing against Australia… Germany showed some real class…
Sorry all you boyz down under…
Mike McKeownMemberEngland – USA… kicking off in 10 minutes…
if you guys see those horns the fans are blowing, its called a vuvuzella. “vu-vu-ze-la”, they are as loud as you can imagine, the sound of soccer in SA. They are originaly the horns off the top of diesel locomotives…
Mike McKeownMemberI’ll be happy regardless of the outcome, but as the songs goes, “Three lions on my shirt.” 😉 We’ll see who figures that one out!
Barmy Army…
Last night was something to behold. Oh my sack, the noise, the spirit, the everything… and I wasn’t even at the game.
More to come today, USA are playing England… should be fun.
Mike McKeownMemberSorry Tim, normally I am bitching at the wrong times, but right now, it’s 4pm and 8pm, just have to time myself on the frostie consumption.
Getting all goosebumpy…
