Anyone own an original Sage 590 RPL-4?

Does anyone own a Sage 590RPL-4?
My rod’s grip is a lengthy 7 inch long.
My Sage 490-4 LL for instance is only 6 inches long.Can anyone check the length of his 590RPL-4?
I always thought the 3-5 weight RPLs had a shorter grip, around 6 inch.
Maybe it’s because I have been fishing with bamboo rods in shorter lengths (7-7.6 ft rather than the usual 9ft with graphite) and smaller grips (usually 5-5.5 inch length) that the RPL grip all the sudden looks huge!

So I got a mate with a Scott G, 7 foot 3w, turns out it is actually 6′ 10″, so a mail was dispatched to the relevant people at Scott and they confirmed that it just didn’t look or sound right, so they just called it 7 foot.
So then this weekend we were guiding a few high rollers and at some point a Sage 9′ was standing next to a Winston 8′ 6″ and my Scott 8′ 8″ , and something didn’t look right. So out came the tape and at the end, my 8′ 8″ was the only one that was actually the right length… however, when we broke it down later, my rod was the only one with different length sections, all the other’s sections were the same lengths…
Anywho, what were you saying something about a grip????

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37JVmudfpWUI talked to someone who owns a 590-4 VPS. The VPS series is a reincarnation of the old RPL series, although some say the taper isn’t 100% RPL but it sure comes close if I recall it right.
Well the 590-4 VPS has the same 7 inch long grip.Sorry Zach if I caused any problems with board ethics with my topic, I was hoping our members here might help me out here.
