I had a customer in the shop yesterday that had a LOOP rod and reel combo, it was nice looking stuff but nothing I would lust after.
MSI have seen some customers with pretty sophisticated spread sheets but have never heard of anything directed at fly tying. one guy that I remember listed the flies he tied when you clicked on the cell the materials where listed, and his materials work sheet gave alternate materials when you clicked on the cell.

Didn’t we get in trouble for this kind of rambling once before, and besides I was weaned on Black Label which I’m sure explains a lot of things.
The greatest fly fishing backpack to me is the one I couldn’t bring myself to put on the Midcurrent blog, because it’s too expensive. But man, does it look perfect.

MSWater is real high here also which also means it’s the color of creamed coffee could be a week before it’s clear enough to put the boat on the water.
One of my goals every year is to catch a Steelhead on a floater still hasn’t happened but I keep trying. Fishing dry’s and floaters is very seductive but it’sThanks for the encouragement Ron that’s the kind of information I needed. I was a little concerned about the weight at first but I don’t see 70 lbs as a Hugh deal. I deal with a lot of duck hunters and think this will be a good fit with them. I haven’t talked with Blake as of yet but the regional guy (Joe) that I talk with is in line with what I’m looking for, and I like the small retailer plan that they have. I did have a chance to talk with the area guy with Native and did not like the way the do business. I will be getting my first boat next week,so I’m looking forward to doing a float trip for some carp and smallies on the Maumee here soon. I do have a local pond near me to do some demos.
So how did the fish tricking go today..?
MSWell guys looks like I’m going to go with Nu Canoe the main reason is they are more geared toward smaller dealers and I will have most of the upper half of Ohio and the lower part of Michigan I’m not going to infringe on the area that you guy’s cover Mike, hopefully if the time
Yea Mike, Jerry’s my rep for them and a host of other stuff, but I don’t see him very often. I would bet I’m the smallest customer he has.

The biggest problem that I have is finding companies that are in my ballpark for minimums and inventory.
Although having a few natives around here would make thing more interesting ;D. I have room for maybe 2 boats in here but I thought 1 leaning outside would be a good draw. The only real paddling shop here just went under last winter there could be a void to fill.Mike,
The Freedom Hawk rep was here last fall nice boats but tough to sell to other paddlers than fishing folks.
also when Dusty finally makes it up here to the beautiful Midwest as promised, we’ll have to head your way for some of those carp waters over there.
