Not an expert by any means but let me throw this in.
I have fished with a guy who has a riverhawk, and it just looked cumbersome to me.

Thanks for the heads up on that, I was able to get another much needed pair of pants, for a very reasonable price!

    Bob,
I was telling a few guys that there is a learning curve in the kayak. The float is quicker so I had to plan my presentation a little better. A drift sock would slow me down enough to fish it like a toon.
We had a guy in a 13 ft prowler and he was fine. There was only one spot were there may be trouble but Neal could give you specifics on that spot.
If you decide to bring them up let me know and I will let you know when I am back in Tampa next spring.

I could have paddled up stream to the location of the chain, but I did not order the underwater paddler package, so retrieving would have been difficult.

I just might have to do that. I plan on a trip to the Flint for some shoal bass too.

Thanks for the advice. I guess there is a lot to learn, even though I have been on and around boats most of my life.

    Zach,
call the DOT. I know they have arch. Working for them. I listened to their main one at a teacher workshop one day and she said they are always looking to do things around the State.
I know that sounds crazy but the DOT really does have a section of their office dedicated to archeology.
    Good luck.

    ZM,
I was there on Saturday and it was an easy take out for the toons.

ZM, jump over to ngto and ask this question and you will get detailed information. They also have a map section that might show you exactly what you are looking for.
I know there will be a floatilla from ngto on the water Saturday from the dam, but not sure where they are taking out.

    Another quick thought,

What about an iJournal type fishing journal that lets you photograph from your phone and store voice notes in the same app so you could place it into a larger electronic Journal when you had a chance, maybe even sync the iJournal with the software on the desktop.

what about something to help you string up your rod a little easier? I am not sure exactly what it might be, but I know I hate those cold mornings when the line slips back through the guides.

Josh, How long before yo have one of those on your vise? 😉

I have a student that is a huge swimbait guy and those things are ridiculous! He has brought a few in for me to see and they look like SNITs (stand. nine inch trout).

That is a very nice looking fly for sure.
