MemberImac here, burn DVD’s, external HD here and everything worthwhile goes on my Photoshelter account. For the price, it’s still the best archiving system you can use. Four servers in four different parts of the country. Short of a nuke war, all my stuff will be backed up for as long as I want it.
Plus, I can direct sell via my galleries and Photoshelter Collection.John Pavoncello
MemberThat lens would have been sweet before, but now that Nikon brought out the D3/D300 it’s pointless. I’d just bump the ISO up another stop.
BTW – there is a Canon 70-200 2.8 LIS listed on Sportsshooter for $825 if anyone is interested.John Pavoncello

MemberDrifter,
I’ll think of your offer dearly when I’m landing my first 20″ wild fish of the year on the new Scott. 😀Does anyone know what rod this actually is? I can’t find an SCS listed anywhere on the Scott web site. Going by the photos and the hardware, I’m guessing it’s an S-3 (same reel seat, spacer and grip) but I can’t be sure, especially since I can’t find an 8’8″ rod anywhere on there specs.

MemberForgot to say, Ewa-Marine makes waterproof bag housings for dSLRs that are good to about 30 feet and only cost around $300. Look on B&H’s site.

MemberFor shallow water images, a good old fish aquarium works great.

Do yourself a favor and ship the camera back to Nikon right away to have it professionally cleaned.John Pavoncello
MemberHere’s the only one I have handy, actually shot this the last time I had it out. I’ll try to shoot some others today, I’ve had a couple of requests for photos.

MemberPretty good for a first attempt. The pictures look nice, but here’s a couple of pointers that IMHO would make the slide show a little better.
1. loose the ken burns effect.
