I had a blast fishing tonight.  Between 6pm and dark there was a moderate caddis hatch, a huge but brief midge hatch and finally a very very healthy BWO hatch.  I caught fish wish a green wet fly on the swing, a Griffith’s gnat and a size 20 BWO parachute.  I love spring.  Of course I live in Georgia but this post got me excited so I bit.

Where in GA? I’ve fished the Chattahoochee everyday this week after school from 4 to 6 and still haven’t seen a big hatches comparable to the caddis hatches at the beginning of the month. Today I got two 13+ browns on a #18 elk wing caddis. Yesterday I caught four on a #18 parachute adams.

Thanks again for the help. We ended up fishing the Middle Provo because it was the most convenient. Midges were on the menu.

    Totals:
    2 Mountain Whitefish…. glorified carp
    8 Browns

Scott, thanks for taking the time to look at my pics. about the chalet scene: It originally was more about documenting the sign and less about the chalet. I realize the sign is not that interesting compared to the chalet itself. For some reason I just liked it. For graduation I am going to get a d60 or d40x. Then I will be able to get filters, change exposures, and worry about other settings. I wish I had more than just a sony point and shoot on automatic at the time. I realize that the other landscape shots, although beautiful, lacked subjects or points of interest. Again thanks for the help.

String Cheese Incident may not be a bluegrass band, but their stuff carries a heavy influence. check out dudleys kitchen: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?i=5540015&id=5540165&s=143441

I got the 08 riversheds and I love them. They are comfortable and wide enough. I would definitely recommend them to you.

Thanks for the tips guys! Knowing myself, I think I’m going to have to go with a beginners kit. I could spend $100 – $150 on a Griffin vice, but I am not sure how into this I am going to get. I would rather buy a start up kit knowing that if I get hooked, (pardon the pun) I will upgrade. I will check out that book by Skip Morris. It sounds clear and simple.

    Thanks again for the help.

    Thanks John,
I am trying to get pretty serious about this, and I believe I will be doing it for many years. So, I agree w/ you concerning the glass. Maybe to be more accurate, I should have asked you guys what you shoot with and what the pros/cons are in each. I have already learned that it seems D200s are waterproof!
    Dusty

D200s also do not have preset shooting modes which means you have to know what you are doing with every shot. This forces you to learn pretty quick what you are doing, but it also ruins a few photo opportunities for the first few weeks

David, or anyone else – – – do you know if the new Aperture is compatible with MacBook Pro 17″ 2gb Ram?  In the past Aperture would not load on my system.  No big deal really since I use Photoshop but it would be nice to look at this program for an introduction.

Any version of Aperature should be able to run on your MBP. When you ran it before, was it just slow (which it shouldn’t be with a 17″ MBP) or did you have errors when installing? You might try turning off dashboard when running Aperature (http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050723123302403).

Anyways Aperature is a great program and can’t wait to try out the new version when I finally have the money to get rid of my ancient powerbook g3 and get a new MBP.

I just found a good deal on http://www.williamjoseph.net/ Dry-Namic Waders due to a non-standard sizing closeout sale (small and xxl). They usually sell for about 280 and I found them for 170. I read multiple positive reviews online. Has anybody used or owned a product from this company?

I sure like the price on the barebones. I think its gonna be between those and hodgman widelites or classics. and I’ll just find some cheap wading boots that will work for now.
