I just bought an Olympus stylus tough 6000 whilst on holidays in the U.S.
and so far I’ve been quite impressed with it. I’m not up to the standard of the guys on here but it seems to take a pretty good pic.

I was a smoker of 20 years until the other day, I’d given up before on NRT and will power but have always given in eventually to the habit. I have just finished reading Allen Carr’s “Easy way to quit smoking” and what a revelation it is. It is like a switch is flicked in your head and you are taken back to your persona before cigarette’s.Highly recommended.P.S I have no affliation with this book,all I know is it works.

GlennHey wait a minute, where the hell is my dashboard. Since my oldest daughter started driving last March I seem to have lost my car. Nowadays my work vehicle is a Gary Fisher Zebrano, maybe that’s why I haven’t been fishing much lately?

You know you only have to jump on a plane and visit us in Qld for all the rednecks you can handle 😀All this truck talk made me start thinking. When is Toyota going to introduce diesel to the American market? They have it everywhere else. They have a clean twin turbo full size that gets about 23-25 miles to the gallon and the technology to get more. This engine runs cleaner than gas. Americans are missing out. Why have they not tapped that market.
We also have the tacoma which is different that the rest of the world – who has the hilux. The Hilux ride is not smooth enough, so Toy built a different truck for us. The hilux is still built on the frame and suspension that made the toyota truck famous. The T1000 was built on the same frame then it changed to the tundra for the Americans. No one else has this soft ride tundra as well, it’s an american thing.
What happened to the good ole beater that was tough as nails. I remember my first truck and it was made like a good stout beer. In comparison our trucks now are like a weak pilsner. They ride better but I’m scared to get off the pavement
Dual Fuel, Flex Fuel…. another little rant. Why abuse our land by subsidizing corn. If we want to use a plant for fuel, use something that is drought tolerant and doesnt need all the pesticides and fertilizers that destroy our streams – soybean is better and more efficient and doesnt leach the soil as bad, i mean… kudzu would make great gas.

I don’t know anyone here in Oz who would consider using dacron as backing anymore,freshwater anglers included. The two most popular brands of GSP being Fins and Bionic braid(an aussie braid which I believe is available in the U.S).
A reel which will hold 150 meters of 10kg dacron will hold 250 odd meters of 15kg GSP,now some fish don’t require lots of backing(or any backing) but what you gain for those that do is a larger spool diameter for faster line pick up. Finger cuts only occur when your to slow to get your fingers out of the way when Mr fishy takes off,it happens but you will learn quick 🙂Cheers
GlennBare feet and lots of sunscreen.Crocs when we are running between spots or I’m at the wheel but they come off when it’s my turn up front,as Craig said it’s to risky not to feel the line under your feet.

CourtyLoomis and Redington both offer complete rod replacement,would the fact that they are also pretty much the only fly rod manufacturer’s that have a full range of conventional tackle rods have any bearing on this?
It’s obviously a selling point for some but how much influence does the warranty policy have on your rod choices?
I know for me it’s fairly low on the list of criteria.cheers
CourtyI don’t tie a lot,but for what it’s worth I have a Griffin Mongoose and have found it a well made bit of kit.A mate who ties for a living has used a Griffin for years and had no problems.
David…if I could figure out how to send a macaroni and cheese pie through the mail…PoudreRiver would have one pie a week on order.

Whats the go with Stripers,are they stocked into the freshwater sections of your river systems or naturally occurring?They seem a bit like our Barramundi which lives in both fresh and salt but will only breed in the salt.

As far as I know they are released as fry,the older hatchery fish get released in waters that have easier public access.DA
