Cameron MortensonMemberLast night I was able to host Drifter on the family pond for a few hours as he was passing through to Columbia. We had a good two hours out there but it was just to warm still for there to be to much action. Afterwards we went back up to the house for some beef brisket sandwiches, baked beans, and a homemade macaroni and cheese pie that the wife put together.

MemberLooks like the fish is going ‘Ahhh’ while looking at that rod. If you’d had some Carp, you might have had some going ‘Ooooh’ too. 🙂
Nice looking pond. I still have not fished still waters much, but it looks pretty fishy to me, too. Must be nice to have a family pond to fish.

Cameron MortensonMemberI always start the year with very good intentions to spend a lot of time on the pond…and it usually gets pushed aside for other things. It is a clear water pond…which is kind of unusual for down here.
Carter…there are pickerel in the pond…as well as largemouth bass, bream, crappie, and catfish.
David…if I could figure out how to send a macaroni and cheese pie through the mail…PoudreRiver would have one pie a week on order. He’s a big fan. I might be able to message you the recipe if you like.
Oh, Carter, I was using the Nikon D70s last night.

Memberyeah, I thought I remembered you having a couple of pickerel shots on here a while back.

Cameron MortensonMemberOK…I had no idea that this thread would end up being hijacked for macaroni and cheese pie photos!!!
The following photos are macaroni and cheese pies that I’ve thrown together while on fishing trips with PoudreRiver and our friend Dave.

MemberI just can’t believe that I’ve witnessed a guy from South Carolina with asparagus on two separate dinner plates.

Cameron MortensonMemberYeah…this Midwest Yankee (Michigan) living in the South was just keeping it real with some green vegetables on the plate.

Steve K.MemberCameron,
Thanks for a great evening. That has got to be one of the prettiest “ponds” I have seen……I’d classify it as a lake though because it is pretty big in my book. Seems like the whole time I was there, ducks and geese were circling overhead. Special thanks to your wife for the dinner! It really hit the spot! You are a lucky man!
Pick a day(s) and we’ll float one of the tailraces in my neck of the woods.
Zach…I forget how I found out Cameron lives in the Columbia area….but it might be neat to have a “Trip Swap” forum or thread. I’d certainly be willing to provide a driftboat trip in exchange for fishing in other areas of the country/world? Maybe our friends “down under” would be interested.
