MemberEcho Shadow PE is a really nice euro nymphing rod and priced very reasonably. I have the 10.5′ 3wt and it can handle good sized western rainbows/browns very well. The butt section is more like a 5wt but the tip is nice and very sensitive.

MemberIf you want to fish the South Fork ( I would over the main Snake ANYDAY!) go with JD Miller from Henry’s Fork Angler………….hands down, the best money you could spend. I think there a few guys on this board that have used him in the past……maybe they will chime in.
+1 for JD Miller. That would be money very well spent if he’s got an opening.

some of you Aussies should find a way to get Victoria Bitter into the US. that stuff is forbidden fruit to me. Green label fosters oil cans are just not the same.

MemberMaybe they bought some new old stock from a shop that was going out of business and were selling them at one of the Cabela’s stores???
according to the blurb in the new catalog they are all brand spanking new ones they are making fresh. they made a point to state that they weren’t leftovers or overstock, etc.

MemberI’ve never used the ULA, but they sure look nice and I’d love to get my hands on one. I’ve had zero problems with the Litespeed 2 and the Velocity 1.5 and would recommend either without hesitation. My only partially constructive feedback is that I prefer the drag knob design of the Velocity series over the Litespeed since it’s harder to get grit/sand under there, but I probably like the profile and look of the Litespeed a little better. Functionally I don’t think there’s a distinguishable difference.

MemberIf a magazine buys your article does that make the content true?
A high percentage of the small or unknown destination stuff I have read seems to be garbage. Basically every article (not all, but still I would guess a high percentage) where the author purports being a local or having fished there on a regular basis for some ungodly amount of time is written by someone who has no freaking clue. What local or person who cares enough about a fishery to routinely visit it would do that to a place they love? Honestly? An author who writes like that is just trying to convince the publisher that they know WTF they are talking about so they’ll run their article. The vast majority of time I’m guessing this is the case.
As for FF mags in general; I pretty much only buy them on occasion for the pictures. It’s fun to see a place you’ve been to or a region you plan to visit every now and then. Good throne material.

MemberThat’s not me! It’s Krai.
He hasn’t taken me there ever, or for bulls. He has taken Krai multiple times on both adventures I think, though…

MemberNice story. I hope I get a chance to fish there some day.
