For the price, It might be a decent line to do a little lawn casting. Save your expensive lines from wear and tear and use this stuff for dragging across your lawn.

One day destinations for me means fishing the Lower Mountain Fork in Oklahoma or in Arkansas for trout. I can drive south 5.5 hours and hit the Gulf of Mexico out of New Orleans or less if I want to fish off the coast near Lafayette or the Intercoastal Canal in south Louisiana. Of course, where I live, largemouth bass, crappie, and bluegill are standard fair within 5 minutes of my home. IN 15 minutes I can fishing on the Red River at the site of this years Bass Master Classic. I still prefer to drive over to fish with a good freind of mine in the Dallas area when I have the chance. – Most of my trips are within a 3 hour drive from my home. I spend most of my time hitting warm water to be quite honest.

I have no clue why the fish love those orange rubber legs on hoppers or other terrestrials. For some reason, they seem to prefer those things in my area. I can tie the same fly but use different legs and the fish turn off. I put on the orange , striped legs and the fish start giving the fly the business. – Maybe the orange is simply an attractor that catches their eye.

I bought a NOS Patagonia SST off of E-Bay. I searched for “rain coat” rather than “wading jacket”. 4 pages of items in I spotted the SST. The seller listed it as a bicycle messengers rain jacket.

I fished from Durango to Silverton mainly. Andrews lake, Clear Lake, and Upper Animas. A day trip to Ouray and over to Telluride held a few fishing lakes, but I don’t recall the names. I was mainly just driving, looking, stopping, and fishing.

The last 3 photos were from the trip to Telluride. Popped a tire driving in that area. Saved some time taking the direct route. Tire was fine with a little fix-a-flat.

This tied using pine squirrel strips in a variety of colors. The cone needs a little room to wiggle near the eye so the fly rattles a little bit. The local guys here call them a pine cone fly. It is just a slumpbuster variant. Drives trout and bass crazy. Catches crappie and bluegill too (if the bluegill are large enough to get the thing in their mouth).

I think his bags look very functional. I would like to see the slingpack made from a waterproof fabric.

That is a nice touch that looks easy to execute. I haven’t seen a fly like that before. – Very cool idea.

The ZXL is a nice stick. I don’t think the Circa is aimed at the same end user. Sure, the ZXL will leave the line-up soonish, but I just don’t see it leaving just because the Circa is coming along. The Circa is being built for guys that like classic fiberglass rods casting stroke but not the weight.

Helios 2 is on the way for sure. I’ve seen the photos and video already.

I picked up two airbrush compressors and 4 airbrushes, tips, glass jars etc. for a very low cost at a surplus sale at our local school board. The airbrushes function perfectly and some of the equipment looked new. I also picke dup a printing press from the same sale for next to nothing. The press was still in the original packaging. The invoice was dated 1979. The same press costs $1000 now. I got it for $25.- You could try checking with a vocational school or your local school board to see if they have any surplus airbrush equipment. You might get lucky.

Awesome! I really like the way the artist uses diagonal lines to create the values in the drawings. Nicely done. Is that ink or graphite? My guess is ink.

I like the flat sides on the large Griffin. It prevents the stacker from rolling off the table when you knock it over. Nice touch!

Chernobyl ants and small foam beetles are so easy to tie. The fish like them as well. I use them when pond hopping and cold water fishing too.

Then there is this web page: http://hopperfishing.wordpress.com/
There are some nice hoppers there.
