Leader wallets are nice, but there are less expensive alternatives out there.

I went to a local dollar store and bought some neoprene electronic cases for a buck each. The cases are the right size to hold prepackaged leaders, or the small plastic zip lock packages that leaders come in. The cases are made for holding smart phones or small point and shoot digital cameras. I slipped all of my leaders into one case. There is a second pocket that was just the right size to hold some small shot, small foam indicators, and some floatant.

Honestly, I usually don’t switch leaders often at all. I will use the same leader for several days. I swap out tippet meterial regularly. This small little pouch that I picked up is just a nice, neat way to keep my bag organized. The bonus is that the little neoprene pouch floats.

If you are one of those folks that doesn’t mind using an item that takes up more space, I used to use a CD case to hold my leaders. THe little plastic sleeves worked quite well. They are just a bit bulky in my opinion.- Check the dollar stores folks. You might be surprised at what you can find in those places.

Those flies would be perfect for pond hopping in my area in April, May, and early June. The fish start going deep after that.

The trout will hit them all summer.

You can try this website. Be sure to browse the menu on the left side for typical fly recipes or patterns.

Do you have to have a manufacturer/ distributor/retailer pass to get in to the show like most other trade shows, or is this open to the public?
My wife’s family is from just outside of New Orleans. This show would give me a good excuse to visit family and…uh hmmm…. take a break from family to enjoy a fly fishing expo if need be.

Very slick video. The Felt Soul Media folks have a habit of doing that.

I don’t own any Scott rods, but the video sure had me captured over at their web site for about 10 minutes. Looks like a quality product. I like the fact that they are made in the USA. My buddy has one. I’ll have to ask him to let me give it a bend some time.

I like the tube rack. Looks good to me. I have been building furniture longer than I have been fly fishing.

One improvement might be to use a router to create circular divots for the bottom of the tube as well so the bottom of the tube stays put. You could also use two boards(Drill completely through the top board with a hole saw to make the space for the bottom of the tube. Leave the second board complete to create the base for the bottom of the tube to rest on.)

YOu could clamp the top board and bottom board s that would recieve holes at the same time on your drill press or even if you used a hand drill and a strandard hole saw.
