On a more serious note, check out the Poison Tongue.  Great pattern….simple, and deadly effective.

    Hey Noah –

Have a look at the post stickied to the main board on how to change your display name over to your real first and last name.

From what I hear the San Juan is a major scud and sowbug factory too (hence the “San Juan Shuffle”).

    Hi:

I am new to this board!  Could not find any info by using the “Search” function.  I was looking for ideas for San Juan River Flies.  What led me to this site was Google hits on midge patterns that were good for the SJ and other tailwaters.  Typing in the patterns in the search function got no hits.  I typed “midge” in the search box but still no hits.   😕

I’ve a  planned trip to the SJ for next week and the week after. ;D

His life was de-railed but once upon a time, nobody knew the San Juan better.

This guy has a nice blog and his main focus is fishing midges and small flies.

You can try this website. Be sure to browse the menu on the left side for typical fly recipes or patterns.
