And if it’s windy or running the boat it keeps the air off your ears. I am much less tired after a long day.

I have two push pole holder that you could set on side to create a rod holder/cradle for the reel end of your rods if you want them.

    Zach,
First this is awesome. You have a gift. How did you learn all of this. I have taken on very small projects but would never have the foresight to compete a project this large. You make it look very easy, which is a compliment in and of itself.
Do you know what the begin weight/finish weight will be? Just curious how much all the glass/epoxy/and wood adds.
Did you ever consider running your rod tubes backwards. I have not figured out why in small skiffs they all run forward. It is much easier to fish/manage rods with them runnin from the bow to stern. From the time you get ready to fish and when actually fishing with multible rods, it is much easier to have the reels at your hands on the bow. Bring that thing down to Hilton Head and lets catch some shallow water reds.
Thank you for sharing, now time to go drill or sand something on my actioncraft.

He is a great guy. Pretty intense about fly fishing.

Good luck and let us know how you do.

Thanks for the info. I think we are going up there this weekend. I finally called and spoke to the old couple that runs it. They had to pass the phone around because no one could hear.

Fly shop of Miami is pretty good. THey are down off/or were, Dixie Rd.
Definately check out the exotics in the canals. I know of one spot that you can get to and is safe.
Guides, take your pick, but I have fished with Capt Mo Esteves. Great guide and great guy.

I have and had several costa’s. If I were to buy anything else, it would be Smiths/Action Optic glass. The old ao glass are some of the best glasses made. Fished with a guide in Miami and there was no contest between his glass ao and my costas. The new smith glass is pretty dang good to. Not sure how there customer service is but costas is spotty and best.

Nice Job. This is the time to fish the lowcountry. We caught a pig yesterday on the low tide, and going tonight for reds in the grass.
    Congrats again.

If you can do it, see if can pull the tide info for coastal areas. I would love to be able to sort by tide levels and see what I did.

You would think by now there would be some type of detailed, well organized journal. I am not a tech-geek at all but you would think that there would be a ton of integrated programs/journals outhere. All the weather/tide/flow etc is online, why can it not be put into one place and you add notes? Living on the coast, it would be nice to track everything by tides and moons.

I just fished the elkhorn last week while visiting the in=laws. Contact forward cast fly shop in Loiusville. I think his name is dick. He knows every inch of every stream in the state and can give you very good advice. He talked to me one day for no less than 3 hrs on smallmouth fishing. I grew up in Danville, 90 miles away and he knew holes that I did not even know about in my own town.
Canoe KY is the company your thinking of. It has the equipment to get you access, not sure if they will be of any help on the fishing side.
Yes, the elkhorn can be waded in most areas. All of my fish last week, all 4, came on the top side of the rapids at the end of pools.
I highly recommend calling Forward Cast and get his advice. He will know exactly what you can do and can not. Elkhorn may or may not be your best option. I fished it because of Canoe Ky and their services. He will know
