No, he’s better off with the floater on the renters policy because the pro policy will be a lot more expensive.
No, he’s right, if he doesn’t have a homeowners or renters policy they aren’t going to be able to give him the coverage because that stuff is done as a floater on another policy not as a stand alone deal (at least for a non professional).
Print out a copy of their webpage where it says you should pack your expensive reels in your carry on.

Along the lines of what Eric is saying there I doubt you’d even have to “stage” that many shots while shooting after the hunt if you didn’t want to. It’s not video so shots of gear being broken down are going to be hard to distinguish from shots of the gearing up to someone unfamiliar with the context. Of course you’d probablly only want to pull this at dusk or with soft light and not in a blazing mid day sun if you’re audience is other turkey hunters….

Your shop is being nice by “talking you out of” returning it. You shouldn’t return something you’ve used unless it’s defective or you might find yourself in the growing ranks of people bemoaning the fact that their favorite shop closed up. Just saying.
