sorry to sound like a street pharmachist but, yeah, those sound like Vicoprofens which are probablly pretty weak (under 10 mg of hydrocodone each probablly).

I tore my right rotator cuff in a wrestling match with a drunk.

    It wasn’t me was it??

Hey Steve, haven’t seen your name in a while.

I’ve never replaced my Apex Anvil vise, never had a reason too.  Great for what I tie (mostly large baitfish flies).  $100 msrp, comes with a base and a clamp, lifetime warranty……….  I’d just get that and be done with it.  Never found a hook to big or small for it to grab hold of and when its all tightened down nothing budges.  Been using mine for several years now, not a single issue.

I’ve spent thousands of dollars on fly tying buts its going to take a lot to make me buy a new vice, and ‘they’ have tried to sell me everything under the sun.  I’ve tied on almost every one of the major-player’s vices, nice stuff all around, but just not that much better for what I’m doing.  Maybe if I was doing small, complex trout flies……….  It will definitly get you started, if not more.

I’m pretty sure it was Zach who recomended it to me back in the day.

You know the strange thing is I’ve tried the stinger hooks on those types of patterns thinking it would be perfect…….

in reply to: Reddington SVII reels #11870

Well there should be a thick vail of sarcasm cast over most everything I say.

I dunno, maybe i’m off but I thought they were always talking about this AL reel like it had the best drag since RuPaul, then giving you some fine print about scrubing it down with a toothbrush after every use…….

in reply to: Reddington SVII reels #11867

Nice to see someone else who can admit that reel is a rusty piece of crap Mike.

This is one of those things that is best to learn by actually watching it done correctly.

in reply to: Some of you might find this interesting #11839

ha ha, the ironic thing is that might be able to pass for me from far off.

in reply to: Ross v Orvis #11773

    Yeah, good point, greg.

in reply to: Ross v Orvis #11769

that Ross Canyon BG drag is great, I’ve come across people that adamatly hate it though, mostly die-dard cork guys.

in reply to: Ross v Orvis #11766

Oh, its far from the world’s best drag, I’d never buy one for anything larger than a 6 wt rig.
