As for the Orvis vs Ross thing, those are both good reels, I think the Orvis is cheaper and probablly a better ‘deal’, they are pretty comparable reels.

i’m not seeing that C70S D on there though.
As for large hackle, I dunno, I haven’t bought any in a while so I’m not aware of any deals out there at the moment.

MemberFor pretty close to the same price as the 34007’s the Mustad C70S D is a much sharper hook.

MemberIf there is a shop nearby where you can test any of these lines then I would do that, I mean, I like the stiffness of the Rio stuff but I also have a very agressive casting stroke.

MemberThis isn’t saying that they won’t hit them but I think that fish has the least appetite for a clouser deep minnow out of any of the large predatory fishes I’ve ever fished for.
