MemberFinish out the local steelhead season.
Fish lakes in BC interior May/June.
Ontario in July for Gar, etc…
Maybe late August early Skeena steelhead.
Work the fly shop and guide Fraser River and tribs on days off all fall, so no time off.
Then more steelhead after that.Apr 15, 2008 at 2:42 pm #25043
Joel ThompsonMemberI plan on hooking up with Hippie man and “Bill” to learn their syncronized casting technique.
And fishing with Kevin Powell this fall.
Another than that I just plan on having a fun fishing season.

MemberGot a 4 day backpacking trip coming up first weekend of May, either Seneca Creek backcountry, Cranberry backcountry or a marathon of brookie tribs in the Shavers Fork backcountry. Haven’t finalized it yet with my film, er, fishing crew.
Speaking of which, my goal is to get my next DVD – Vandalia Angler II – done by late summer. I’ve got about 5 hours of footage for it now and hardly any of it satisfies my vision for the project.
Hopefully will have several other backpacking/fishing trips in addition to tons of time on local water.
Going to Colorado for a cutthroat marathon in late August. I’m a native species nutcase.
Tons of Trout Unlimited projects are in my lap right now too.

MemberDon’t you just love it when a Southerner places a post here. Let’s make this interesting!
I’m going to Lake Concordia next weekend (in the heart of Cajun Country… Southeast Louisiana).
For some of these…

A-N-D some of these on the fly!

A-N-D to answer your first question; “Yes, we do practice catch and release here!” But, if they are big enough to fillet… we release them in a cast iron skillet!

MemberLando, when do you get out of school?
You may just be able to wait until then and use your personal day on something else fishy. The fishing is okay now, but until we get a good push of water the big boys (& girls) will be hard to find. We had a couple of warm days and the water came up slightly. But it is back down as it cooled off, and is supposed to stay that way, at least as far as the forecast goes.
I will keep you on my speed dial regaurdless.
If you want to come up now there are plenty of these around…

MemberI can get into those dinks anytime……..Morgan looks pleased, though.
Is that a net I see?

MemberNet on top of a spinner box. One of her favorite things to do when fishing gets boring is to dig in the mud with the net, so it always makes the trip when she comes.
