    Guys

    I tried a 7wt sharkskin line on a 6wt Sage today.

    I’ve cast it on a Sage Z-Axis.

Once you fish it for a day, you start ignoring that whizzing noise after awhile.

My fly shop talked me into keeping it and fishing with it before I take it back.

It’s almost like a ticking clock or a ceiling fan whirring in a room – you get used to it and start to ignore it after awhile.

Your shop is being nice by “talking you out of” returning it.  You shouldn’t return something you’ve used unless it’s defective or you might find yourself in the growing ranks of people bemoaning the fact that their favorite shop closed up.  Just saying.

The line had only been casted three times in the front yard. As soon as I suspected a concern I stopped casting. My fly shop provides great service and advice. They stand behind what they sell.

I’m just messing with you man, used is used but more power to them if they’ll take it back with a smile.

Best line I have ever used, but be careful the grain only goes one way, the other way and burns you… I got all exited when I got a chase from a monster predatory fish, gave it a good fast strip and drew blood… missed the fish, it would have been a better story with a good pic.

I love SA lines. But I don’t care for this one. I don’t like that noise although I’m sure you would eventually get used to it. But the main thing is if you are stripping in line or shooting line – you can definitely get a burn or even draw blood.

SA’s response is to wear “finger protection” or to alter your casting or fishing style. No thanks. Standard lines are good enough for me and about $40 cheaper.
