I’m not familiar with the 28-80 lens but the main difference in the two is the lense that comes with the kit.

The D50’s 18-55mm is not a particularly nice lens.

Bigger flies will keel the head and delay turnover but if you’ve ever thrown 390 grains of level head you’ll know there’s a point of diminishing returns.

I have a video somewhere of me bouncing a cast back at 125′ – that is a 10 weight with 30′ of LC-13.

This biggest problem I’ve had is finding a head that doesn’t dump.
