Agree with Morsie here. 48MP is astronomical. My iMac is loaded with the full 3GB of RAM it can take; it’s a 2.1Ghz processor. It can barely run Lightroom with 10MP RAW images (of course, I have about 30,000 of them in the archive). You’d flat need a Mac Pro tower (minimum $4k with monitor, and that’s not much of an improvement over what I have – you’d need to spend $6k right now to get in the ballpark). Ouch.
Also, my interpretation is a little different. Nikon is due for a D3x. Most people expect it to have range in the 20-25MP area. That would meet the qualifications on that ad.
I certainly think Nikon needs to release its next high-res pro flagship before going to medium format, especially since they currently have four (4!) 12MP cameras on the market (D90, D300, D700, D3) with more out there (D2x) in the used arena. Canon has a flagship that can make a print big enough to fit the side of a bus.

PS If Nikon goes to a digital rangefinder, that would be great too, but I’d rather see it stay in the DX range and focus on being portable and quiet. All rumors of the old F3D prototype that supposedly was out there seem to have died, but how cool would it be to have access to all of Nikon’s manual lenses with a digital back? They could just sell the back door for the existing F3s.
I’d be surprised if the discount extends to bamboo, or is as deep if it does.

I recall hearing somewhere that Line-X and Rhino-liner have different levels of “stickiness.”
Abe –
The Clinch has its fair share of stocker trout, and theoretically they should hit woolies, but TWRA usually stocks in there at 4″. By the time those fish hit 12″, they have seen an enormous number of olive woolly buggers, mostly fished poorly.
Woollies are fished best like most streamers; on the swing, over a drop-off or through a channel. If you are simply casting them in shallow shoaling water like at Miller Island, you’re not going to do as well. I would go down below the Weir Dam to the very end of the island and wade out on the rock ledges, and cast across and down.
But the truth is, the woolly is not the most productive fly on the Clinch and never will be. You are 100% right to be using little zebra midges in there. If you must fish a streamer, I would throw a Zuddler Minnow. Most of Scott Rogers’ crew’s biggest fish came on that fly, which they called “whitey,” being thrown most likely on sinking or sink-tip lines at rising water, out of boats.
If you really want to use a woolly to catch a fish, my advice would be to go down to the Anderson County jail and cast them across and down in the area upstream where the river cuts through those little rock ledges. Be the only one there, and stay far enough back that the fish can’t see you on top of them.

Say a given shot is metered properly at f/8 and 1/125th.
Now add a polarizing filter with two stops of darkening to the front of the lens.
