Board member Andrew Wright and I headed back up to that small Appalachian stream to try to pick up some brookies.  Unfortunately, in the wake of Hurricane Fay, with some parts of the region receiving up to 20″ of rain, the creeks were running higher and stained and the fish weren’t eating.  We again had a handful of quick strikes that I couldn’t get set quick enough, but on the whole the fishing was well off.  Unfortunately the light was also high, which ruined my hopes of getting some more cool pictures at the slides.

Following our mountain shutout, and with my knees screaming once again from the climb up to the car, we headed over to a private pond Andrew’s family has access to, where we caught a few small bass and ran around on the trails.

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

Where are you guys in that last shot?  Is that one of the overgrown service roads we saw last time? What are you driving?  What were you thinking???

Great report – I can’t wait to go back up there again.
