well i haven’t been called “tood” since a mis-spell on my peewee hockey jacket, i will look up those books for sure….

Awesome post Abe: I know from being there last week that the steelies were really picky: we got about 8 between us but had to work the same holes for hours….even three hours on the same 20 foot radius pools…

thanks again for helping with the thread…had a great time in grand marais, after hiring a real good local guide (keith behn i think is how you spell it).
stayed on the same stretch of water for about three hours and fished the same small area the whole time: this was new for me since i usually fishing pockets for only about 15-20 mins if i don’t get anything…
then we moved rivers and hooked up pretty fast: caught three there of decent size (about 5-6 pounders)…..then moved back to the original spot and proceeded to pound em pretty good: we were blessed!
some good size ones too, getting up to about 8 pounds…when the guide sends me the photos i will post em!thanks again.

i just got back from up there this past few days….had a great time fishing for steelies up in the grand marais area….hire a great local guide who i met at the FF show in minneapolis….
the steelhead were just starting to run and we caught about 8 between us in a full day.enjoy your time!

i do know that we will be wading and not in boats at all…high-sticking in tight areas.
i think he likes to use salmon roe but i am not sure…heading out there late tomorrow night so i will be spending the day watching as much on line as i can….again, thanks for taking the time to help a new guy out!
