thanks for the input, but alas, i have purchased it….hoping i will be happy and assuming i will be, especially since i am a novice!i appreciate all the help and advice fellas….let’s hope now that i can catch (release) some nice fish to take photos of.

interesting question…i think for me, it is a solo endeavor…after all the time we have to spend with people all day it is nice to just be alone i think….i do enjoy fishing with friends once in a while, but more so on organized bigger trips…special occasions !hey guys,
much appreciated.i did check out the review on that site, and it said that the Canon and the Panasonic are the two best….which is why i can’t decide!
it also says the Olympus is only so-so……any and all thoughts are appreciated!

i agree with tim; thirty minutes from twin cities might be tough to get on good water, but if you can drive an hour or an hour and half, you will be in great shape

i think that there are myriad possibilities for you to look at in this area…depends if you want to be in Minnesota or Wisconsin, both of which are areas I fish a ton in….I agree with Dan too: if you can take a day and hit the driftless area do yourself a favor – it is great.thanks tim….good thoughts ……i am gonna get that gorilla pod as soon as i get a camera.
i see that their retailers are all around Minnesota so that is great.much appreciated!
also, i am going to be there on may 10 and 11…..i think only the frying pan is fishable? is that right?
