Thanks for the tips Rock…..I’ve met most of the requirements ie, Red Cross First Aid Certification and recent drug test through my employer. I could be mistaken but I think the “Inland” and “Freshwater” might be the same license.
I noticed Sea School has a class beginning in December in the ATL. Were you satisfied with their school? Thanks again.

Thanks for the tips guys. I’ve learned that I can document my 360 hours on the Sea Service form which should not be a problem.
I’m digging the chum shots as well.
Which super-wide lens are you using? I’m not a big fan of grip and grins (although I’m guilty as anyone) but the wide angle shots make them much more interesting.

The bottom of my boat is 5/8 inch marine ply. The outside surface is coated with three layers of epoxy. The UHMP is then screwed to the bottom. Water is allowed to seep out once I pull the boat from the water…..and I’m assuming thats a good thing. I do have a concern about the wood eventually rotting around the screws….but so far so good. If that does happen…I’d probably take the plastic off and go with a layer of fiberglass cloth and the the Line-X like Matt mentions. This would be good for scrapes but less protection against a puncture.
The sides of the boat are epoxy over ply and then painted to protect against UV rays. The interior is stained and varnished with marine varnish with a UV inhibitor added.

Ditto West Systems epoxy and fiberglass cloth. It’s very easy to work with. On another note I have the ultra high molecular plastic (UHMP) screwed on the bottom of my boat. It’s some slick stuff! You can’t leave your boat sitting on the slightest incline like a boat ramp…..don’t ask me how I know this.

Thanks for posting….I learn as much or more from these threads as anyone.
Regarding critique…..I’m colorblind as a bat so I’ll refrain from that portion. Number 1 and 2 are my favorites. Number 3 has great color and composition but I find myself wincing at the death grip on the fish.
In my opinion number 5 would be fantastic if it had a big black leech hanging out of it’s mouth 🙂

Get her the Canon SD750…..7.1 megapixel for about $175. Read Ken Rockwell’s review at http://www.kenrockwell.com. I have one and love it. It has a larger lcd screen (3 inches I think) to chimp your photos.

You’ll then have enough cheese left over for a Pentax Optio for the fishing trips.
Barter for the privelege…help him around his place……and I would emphasize the concept of catch and release. If he feeds his fish…offer to help purchase some feed or maybe fertilzer. I can tell you firsthand…properly maintaining a pond ain’t cheap.
If it were me…..I’d break out the single edged razor blade and start shavin’ away. After removing the guide, old thread and glue…Re-wrap a new guide and glop on some epoxy. Rotate the blank so it dries evenly….done. It ain’t rocket surgery.
I’ve got a Seiko Diver’s Watch that I purchased for $240 in 1990. It’s been underwater about as much as not…….still going strong. Prorated over 18 years….calculates to one cheap watch.
From Curtis Switch Access Parking Lot….turn right on gravel road and go approximately 1/2 mile to Curtis Switch road. – Head north (left turn) on Curtis Switch Road 1.5 miles to Hwy 60. Turn right and head east six (6) miles to Hwy 76 (Appalachian Hwy 4-lane). Turn right at traffic light and head south. Just before you cross the river bridge….you’ll see a small paved road to the left. This will take you down to the Powerhouse and parking lot. If you cross the river on 76….you can turn left into Tammen Park.
