I strongly suggest you do a dry run with a CCI or MCI if possible. All the other other advice is right on as well.

Get up with Cory at plug and play charters. He is more towards Newport,RI but well worth the drive. I caught multiple 30 lb stripers and 10 lb blues on the fly. He knows the deal. He can also steer you around Boston. Check to see what the bluefin are doing also.

Do you know if the Outback has any towing capacity? Any experience with any of the hybrid SUV’s and towing? I have a boat less than 1000lbs. Thanks

Yes it has nothing to do with the yarn or leader as Jack and Allan suggest. This is a timing issue. Watch your back cast. Try more horizontal casting planes so you can see the

I was wondering if I can take the discussion further on blown highlights. I shoot alot of situations whether it’s the kids outdoors (seems they always wear white)or grip and grins for clients. Blown highlights can be a problem ESP on imprompt shots in varying light. I understand the use 0f flash to a certain degree but could use some tips, tricks and adjustments to try. Histograms, flash,Wb, exposure compensation relationships can get confusing. Thanks

Cool videos. And you are right the fly is far less important than a willing carp and a good first cast. Be glad to help anyone looking for their first carp.

Zach save your spoon flies too. Simple white, flashy chenille or even silver tinsel flies will work just fine. Good luck

Highly recommending two great reads: “Lost in Shangri-La” and “Unbroken.” Both are non fiction but read as great novels. Extreme human survival stories with World War Two backdrop. Unreal.
