    Mike,

Just my 2 cents here, but I get enlargements done at Costco.  I’ve noticed the same issue sometimes when I am not careful to crop to exact dimensions – the tech/printer will just crop off equal amounts from the sides/top.

I’ve noticed improvement when I am exactly sure that when I’m exporting from Picasa 3 (my basic photo editor), that the dimensions are exactly as I want them printed (so they fit the scale of shot).  So, if I’m printing a 4×6, it’s exactly that size and orientation.

It may sound obvious but there’s been a few occasions when I’ve had to go back and reprint because the machine cropped it on its own.  However, for 13 cents a print, it doesn’t break the bank thankfully.

I’ve also been very happy with the quality of my prints, doing it this way.

    Grant,

Check out this thread – http://www.itinerantangler.com/cgi-bin/board/YaBB.pl?num=1228427822

I’m basically 99% sold on the XSi and probably will be buying it in the next couple of days.

    Dave,

Looks like a great year – some of that water looks familiar and I’ve had some good times out there as well.

Good luck to all in the New Year.

John, I don’t know what’s more impressive, your pictures or the fact that you do this without a rifle at your side while doing it.

    Very nice as always.

Actually Regan, Sean was using a 5 weight that day.  I’ll have to find out what type of line and rod, but I know it’s a lighter setup for trout.

If you cant handle going a season without landing a muskie (I did), then it’s not cut out for you.  Unless you are Mark Stephenson, who hooked his first muskie on the fly after only 10 casts.

Tim, I just didn’t want to wait a season like you did.

    Nice fish to all.

I was using the SA Spey Skagit Deluxe with Sharkskin running line, with some 200 grain sink tip.

    Lee:

    #1: too tall
#2: the middle of the frame is empty
    #3: too dark and static

Plus AA wouldn’t want someone that ugly on the cover anyway.

    Tim,

Very nice – unfortunately for me I got skunked this weekend, but was able to get out and swing the two hander a bit.

    Neal,

Here’s one I made this weekend in Pittsburgh.  This is the view of the city from Mt. Washington.  I use Canon’s PhotoStitch and I’m very happy with the results.

I thought this looked pretty cool in B&W also.

If I remember right, patterns like this use lead punched with a spent rifle cartridge of some sort, to cut the half moon type shape for the back.

Well now of course last night I spent time looking at the Canon Rebel XTi and that looked good to me.
