MemberOK here are some pics of a deceiver I tied about a week ago.
I played around with somethings previously suggested in the “Help with fly pictures” thread.
I still need to get a tripod, some additional lighting, and maybe some additional reading completed

Memberwhat were you holding in front of your camera when you took the picture ๐
Is there really that much differenc in the 9ft and 8.6ft?
I have heard these are good rods but have not heard complaints about the different lengths.keith b

This comes from the guy who gave me the picture;
I cut mine one of two ways, both from the back side, cutting through the leather to the hair side.
1. Use one of those letter openers with a razor blade inserted.
2. A very sharp knife, such as a stanley box cutter style, and go through just enough to get through the leather.see if this helps
I think I may have just offered my first real assistance to someone on this board ๐ฎ

MemberI am sure a taxidermist could tell you the best way to cut the hide, and possibly even tell you how to dye it.

MemberI can tie wooly buggers ๐
I must be thinking inside a very small box!
This is just a glimpse of taking my tying to the next level. It must be similar to showing a wanna be pilot the inside of a cockpit of a jumbo jet, a bit overwhelming but I can’t get there if I never see where to go.
Thanks Mr Osbornkeith b

MemberOK, so I now have a question.

MemberI am pretty sure I caught one of those in Hawaii, in a small stream, or it was something related to it. I did not think it fought well at all.

MemberI recognize tim. I have spoken with him several times. I will have to congratulate him next time I am down that way. I thought recognized that wonderful water too.
Glad you scratched the itch. I need to do the same soonkeith b
MemberI must be missing something here.
Is there really a whole differnt technique?
I have just done some different things with mine, but I may not be thinking along the same lines with some of my wolly booger small streamers as you guys are with some larger streamers, even articulated.keith b
MemberThanks Guys, I am sure we will run into each other on the DH.
I am going to the Jupiter/Stuart area, if that helps.
I can make clousers pretty weel, just have not attempted other salt patterns.
