It is 8’6″ for 5 weight.

The rod is a couple years old, and has seen limited use.

Isn’t that a $600 rod? What specifically do you hate about it?

Curious to the reason you are seliing the rod. I have been told this rod compares to the new Orvis Helios rods. I own the Helios rods and they are fantastic, but the Winston had sparked my interest. Your opinion would be appreciated.

    Thanks

There are priceless rods in other peoples collections that I would think are garbage.

My dislike is most likely attributed to user error.

The Winston B2X 9 ft 5 wt is probably one of the best fly rods of the past 10 years. The 8’6″ version is not…. size does matter.

On the other hand, I love the longer B2X rods because they are faster. Most of my rods are either classic Winstons or cane so the B2X is my big water rod.

Being a big fan of the BIIx series, I just have to ask, which line are you using on it?
The price you’re asking is a big hit to take. Maybe, just maybe all it needs a line tweak?

what were you holding in front of your camera when you took the picture 😉
Is there really that much differenc in the 9ft and 8.6ft?
I have heard these are good rods but have not heard complaints about the different lengths.

    Keith,
The 8.5 foot 5 wt B2X is a great rod.
