MemberThank you everyone for your feedback and taking the time to look at my images.
Mick – I’d be happy to help however I can.
Bill – I use a Canon 40D body. #1,3,4,6,11, & 13 were shot with a Canon EF f/2.8L 70-200mm. The others were shot with a Canon EFS f/3.5-4.5 10-22mm.

MemberWent to Rocky Mountain National Park this past September and shot this Bull Moose on the East side of the Divide at Lilly Lake (pretty rare). It was after sunset and light was fading fast. This was hand held with a Canon 40D and EF f2.8 70-200 L plus 1.4 Extender, 1600 ISO, 1/250th ss. Felt very blessed to a) see this guy, and b) get this shot!

Also got some really cool bull elk pictures which are on my website. I’ll post some of them on a separate thread.

MemberThanks again everyone for all the tips and pointing me in the right direction.
Yeah, Greg, I know what you mean about packing for the cold. If I go anywhere out West in late September, I will be packed to expect anything from hot dry weather to cold freezing snowy weather. You never know when that Blue Nother will roll in…, and even if it is just typical Indian Summer, the mornings and evenings are crisp.

MemberAs an alternative, if Southwest happens to fly to your destination, they do not charge for up to 2 checked bags per person.

MemberWell, it looks like this trip has been bumped for at least a year, as my wife’s friend just started a new job and no vacation time, etc.
I’ll keep this for future reference though 🙂

MemberKurt – Thanks for your input and experience. I guess I am leaning towards something that will give me more creative options, via plugins or actions. But if I can use these in Lightroom, maybe I don’t need the full fledged photoshop CS5.
BUT, with that said, I am sitting here wishing I had content aware right now. On the last shoot I did, the family was wearing white shirts, and it was a short walk down a trail in to the field of bluebonnets where we were going to do the shoot. Right before they got to where I was set up, the four year old fell down and got the front of his white shirt dirty. It’s time to shoot, golden hour, what can you do? The front of the shirt will be showing in almost every image.
To try and clone this out in order for him to have a clean shirt will take about 20 – 30 minutes per image in order for it to look good. I have a feeling that the content aware feature would fix that dirty shirt in about 15 seconds per image. That could be golden. I guess I am just trying to weigh if it is worth it to have this and other features of CS5…
Dusty – That MAC looks sweet. My excuse? It’s called living within my means ;D 😀 Unfortunately, there are lots of things I would like, but I have to operate on a what gets me the most bang for my buck budget.
