Went to RMNP this past fall and thought I would share some of the shots I came back with.  Really tried to spend time out there watching the rutting Bulls and was even suprised to see a bull Moose!  You can see larger versions of these images on my website.  Also got a few landscapes I like, but have not finshed working on them yet.

Free Ranging Bull Elk – You can barely make out the fence posts in the background that they have installed around the meadow aspen stands to keep elk OUT, so the habitat inside can renew itself.  This picture was taken of an elk which was walking by outside one of these regrowth areas.  All elk in RMNP are free roaming.

All great, but I think I like #4 the best. I like the pose and the way the elk really pops out.

    Very nice photos!

have you thought about taking the fence posts out of a shot or two? that way you have both free looking elk and others that are fenced out. I can see both having appeal.

I like “Herd Bull With Some Of His Harem” best and one of the two in the late light! see hard to choose!
